Podcast/AudioBook: The Compendium of Christian Doctrine, aka the Catechism of Pope St. Pius X, part 3

Please review post

This book is a favorite among traditional Catholics for the use of catechesis. It’s presentation is pretty straightforward: divided into sections, with each section focusing on a topic that is explored in a question and answer session. This is part 3 because I am uploading it weekly in 30-40 minute segments.

When listening to this, think about the content difference between this and the Catechism of John Paul II, which has a lot of worldly topics presented in it, comparatively speaking. Pius X’s catechism focuses on the central tenets of the Catholic faith, as well as prayer, the sacraments, and the other nuts and bolts of Catholicism. It is a must read  (or listen) for those who are presently experiencing confusion about the teachings coming out of the Vatican and the local diocesan Bishop’s office these days.

Normally on Saturdays I upload a papal document, typically an encyclical, papal bull, or an apostolic constitution, that is of interest. I’ll get back to that when I’m done with this catechism. At present I estimate that I am about 60% of the way done with the Catechism of St. Pius X, so it shouldn’t be long before the next documents are uploaded.  When the Catechism is fully recorded and uploaded I’ll put them into a single YouTube playlist for ease of listening.
