When it comes down to it I think he (F——s) is just really nasty. He never stops these ill-tempered, ill-mannered and frankly scurrilous attacks on people he disagrees with. He puts on this façade of being prepared to accept anyone, whatever his opinions, whatever his beliefs, whatever his practices … in truth he accepts you unless you really disagree with him. And then he doesn’t treat you with acceptance or understanding or even common courtesy let alone charity. And if you’re someone in his power, such as a bishop with qualms of conscience as to what he’s doing, you can’t even expect due process. He’s a dictator.
The MO reminds me of the secular left. But that’s not to say he’s “on the left”. I don’t know what his motives are, and he seems just as happy hobnobbing with morally questionable tycoons as recommending Marxist “liberation theology”. But, in truth, is there any difference, anyway? We all read Animal Farm, right? Socialism is just a means to transfer wealth from the hands of the many into those of the few. Every communist society has demonstrated that.
Archbishop Viganò once said something very much to the point. He said the global elite had succeeded in combining socialism and liberalism. What he seemed to mean was that from 1945 until the fall of the Berlin Wall you had socialism and liberalism as different armed camps confronting each other. Apparent opposites. (But neither ideology recognised or served God, he said.) What you’ve had over the past few years is combining of the two ideologies, he avers. Where there was state provision of basic goods or services at a cheap price, the elite said this was unacceptable use of state power and dismantled it. Where there was flourishing private enterprise—say, small-scale organic farms—the elite used state power to handicap it and instead to benefit large corporations, say factory-farming conglomerates … which isn’t difficult given control of the regulatory, tax and subsidy environments. The effect of all this has been massively to transfer wealth into a very few hands.
Francis doesn’t seem prepared to do anything other than play along with this agenda. Maybe that’s his real aim—to ease the path for the secular aims of the global elite. I don’t know. Frankly, I don’t care. Maybe he just hates Catholic morality or Catholic spirituality … or Catholicism tout court. Whatever his motives, I’ve had enough of him.
If it were just that he was blind and deaf to what’s in the Mass of the Ages, then I suppose he’d think, “There’s nothing here: I don’t know why people want it: but clearly they do, good luck to them,” and leave it alone. But that’s just what he doesn’t do. So clearly there are darker motives at work whatever they are.
I really don’t like it. I’m a weak and sinful and I definitely *do* know it. And one effect of all this is it’s ruining my mood and souring me and beginning to get in the way of my religious commitment inasmuch as it’s getting hard to feel calm and charitable and to turn my mind to prayer and spiritual reading. And for all I know this is part of his purpose, too—to undermine people in this way. I could do without it.
Hi Mike,
Thank you for sharing . Your thoughts on your reflections speak to the many emotions and thoughts we share together. It seems lonely when we do not know there are MANY who share similar thoughts as includes an intimacy that reveals the heart and mind .
I then , just last night , came across this video interview which Ibelivegives some consolation, “ we are not just imagining things” . It is well worth the watch . It’s “inside baseball “ given by a priest who witnessed how it all “went down” .
My prayer, you and those who might watch , enjoy – may your thoughts and opinions be given validation.

Consecrate yourself to St. Joseph. Use Fr. Donald Calloway
as guide, his book by that title: Consecration To St. Joseph.
That 33-day “retreat” will disengage you from your perspective,
replacing it with Heaven’s perspective [ on persons, events etc. ]
St. Joseph will also show you to yourself in an exquisite, Fatherly
way.
It was veteran exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger who was told —
during a [ exorcism ] session —by the Demon himself [ the
Demon was ORDERED to “cough up” the truth —that
the way Demons get individuals, institutions, and
governments to fall is by convincing them that strongly-held
convictions/ opinions/ beliefs AND the holder of them
CAN NEVER BE SEPARATED.
” I went upon my knees and took my Rosary
from my pocket. The Lady took the Rosary
from her arm and I began to cross myself.
My arm could not move until the Lady herself
made a beautiful Sign of the Cross.
The Lady let me pray the Rosary on my own.
She passed the beads through her fingers, she
did not say the words. She signed for me to come
closer but I did not dare. She smiled at me, she
bowed to me. She disappeared into the niche,
the golden cloud faded, and I was all alone.”
