My take, no one knows whst Pope Leo thinks about money, as includes asking for it and then spending it.
In the asking there is need – in the spending there may be activism and self dealing which undermines the allocation to “real” need ?
The “MEGA” benifactor ( the type which founds Ave Maria University , as includes the Kights of Columbus who know how to be rain makers )
is likely not inclined to give knowing the money will be directed to the dicastery of “healing by my kiss” , the dicastery of DEI , or the dicastery of climate change .
When a clear signal might be made , even Joe Blow the rag man in the pew , might again start to give money. Gift givers and tithe makers desire to see their gifts and tithes well cared for . If “they”, MAGA or not , do not believe the gift goes to a certain real tangible need, my suspicion , they will discover their pockets deep and their hands short.
