   Your breakdown of current events ( Germany & Los Angeles ) , IMO , spot on . Not that any opinion in an ocean of opinion has any value on its own , your assessments, as are also opinions, seem to conform with the ocean which surrounds all of us – unless one lives in the echo chamber of an estuary where opinion is both salty and fresh .

   My take, given the dynamics of the world’s present day politic, Pope Leo’s arrival places him above the tumult of raging waves blown by the winds. He ascends to The Chair of Peter, as a man, and observes the storm about him and prays that the seas might calm . In a word, “he is between a rock and a hard place “ , totally dependent upon God’s Providential Will who is answering his prayers. His prayer may well be distinct from those words which he shares in public – prayer, for any individual , private, unless joined vocally by two or more .

   All that to say,his person, is that of a man of circumstance who occupies The Chair of Peter, elected by a vote , who arrives to govern His Church, yet bound to by those “knots” tied by the Curia, Bishops, and Priests , foundation stones of words and deeds of which the consequences, “fruits”, are known and confront Pope Leo’s abilities to shepherd in the present moment – he is tied to “defend” the errant decisions of others in protection of their authority by which they wielded their influence when going astray. He is reliant upon prayer and Mary to untie the knots .

   The Way forward will be overseen by Jesus.
   Pope Leo, to the extent he thinks differently from those who elected him to His Office, is likely experiencing himself as having to “thread the needle” – desires to avoid throwing anyone under the bus , yet at the same time set The Bark of Peter on a different course of navigation ?

   Interesting, in all this, Pope Leo IS Peter, at the same time he is an Augustinian, a missionary akin to Paul and a voice to the gentiles . He is also a Roman Citizen ( USA ) .

   Pope Leo, by his capacities, IS both Citizen to His Universal Church, The Kingdom of God and a citizen to the world – the citizenships intersect. i
   Pope Leo, the man, between a rock and a had place. His consecration to embrace God # 1 with all his heart, mind, and soul – at the same time rejecting “god” with all his heart mind and soul. It’s often not an easy task to speak like Jesus and declare “get behind me Satan” .

   Pray, pray, pray for Pope Leo, His Chutch, and “our” Church …. “greater is He who lives in “us” than he who lives in the world”
