Cardinal Burke Is Going To Get Himself Into Trouble Again, and Padre Pio’s Warning About Our Times

Please review post

Cardinal Burke called the ongoing “reforms” an apostasy, but said it in vague-enough language that he might get away with it for a short time.

  1. When CASUAL “spirituality” has fatally compromised
true FERVOUR for so long, how quickly [ never
without Grace ! ] can a Baptized person RECOVER
that fervour, in belief and practise of the Faith?

St. Teresa of Avila, St. Alphonsus Liguori, and
St. John Mary Vianney all teach that it hinges on
NEVER abandoning St. Paul’s proclamation: “Pray
ALWAYS ! Again I say to you, pray ALWAYS . . in
    all circumstances . . “

Having recently viewed Fr. Ripperger’s talk on
that VERY basic virtue, FEAR OF THE LORD, he
goes to great pains “unpacking” it, but not before
observing that it has DISAPPEARED in ALL sectors
    of society !

    . . . a more-than-timely “Heads up !” for those of us
who neither know, or have forgotten, or who pick
and prefer, or who have foolishly dismissed Church
Teaching on Faith And Morals . . and, therefore,
have slid into soft practise, better known as
    Modernism.

Pray St. Joseph keeps me on a very short leash
    tied to the Tabernacle !!

  2. Most Loved Anthony,

Coherence in the Spirit can be reduced to a simple phenomena of social engagement – it is better called group think and echo chamber . Another way of phrasing it , garbage in garbage out . In the hypothetical that everyone in dialogue is sharing their interior movements of heart , then the expression of every thought requires that it be scrutinized by a lens which asks “what it the state of the heart” . The corollary is then , as undermines the lofty thoughts that each participants heart is “pure” , is the reality that any contributor to a conversation may be voicing corrupt content of mind in an allowance that the heart is moved by the spirit of deception ( which can’t be acknowledged since the select few “chosen” know themselves as contributors because they are unrecognized saints – ego and/or pride being the first and greatest of the deadly seven ) .

Religious life is not a cake walk. To outside observers it may seem “easy” as an uncomplicated life choice which bestows instantaneous virtue and sanctity . The daily trials of cleaning toilets , disputes as to whose turn it is, washing dishes, sweeping floors, and conflicts laden with jealousies over “perks” ( as may be spiritual consolations ), as well as the material benefits ( accommodations , travel, offices etc…) can be daily tests which sanctify and purify. It’s “work”, a vocation that requires an orientation of heart that looks to Jesus ( just like any vocation should be ) , “Jesus I Trust in You”.

Padre Pio’s is a great Saint who can be asked to be participatory by his intercession in our walk of life. Pray for his help asking God’s Grace to battle against dark forces in high places . Jesus stood with him and supported him in his fights against the evil one. Jesus and good angels are with us always, in battle ahead of us even if we might perceive it as if we go it alone .

    Blessings, Dr.Scott
