Maybe he fucks some heretic children?
One of the most effective ways to demote the papacy is to make it a position that can be resigned, redefined, shared. I can think of a recent period where this was inculcated.
Wendell, love ya, your specificity will be appreciated. I am left to guess ? I narrow it down to the last 75 years .
Blessings, Scott
When does Strickland get his see back? Francis obviously didn’t have the power to remove him, right? Just like he didn’t have the power to suppress the TLM or create the concept of “non-liturgical blessings,” right?
Most Loved Anthony ,
Were it not so serious it would be funny . You did your best and gave a great effort to explain and provide all the historical context that precede this “precious” document dump. I became vertiginous, I sensed myself spinning . I experienced a headache upon my attempts to give my attention.
In summation, what did I learn today ? I am not sure – you’re the most patient man in the world for your attempts to read and understand all the gobbledygook ?
To the authors , to quote my mother, “If you don’t have anything nice to say keep it to yourself”. Is the intent of this tome to serve as an autobiography, to make oneself likable to others ?
My take, if so, the “others” will have no idea what is being talked about or shared . If the intent is ecumenical for those outside The Church, any reader will have no framework to understand all the psychbabble of this self reflective deconstruction of established identity.
I suspect anyone of Martin Luther’s ilk will put this book down after page 1 or 2 – they won’t give a hoot what this document says, they will still be on path “I’ll do it my way”.
I suppose I am a Chesterton , “ Keep it simple stupid” . This academic masterpiece, written with linguistic beauty, will be found everywhere in the same place around the world – burried in a book shelve in an obscure corner of a library or on the “dark” internet.
So much dedicated effort to produce – so little if anything good to speak about. Tragedy. Was The Love of Jesus , His Salvation , The Cross, or The Real Presence ever mentioned ? The use of a word concordance search would be interesting.
I’m fatigued listening . Did my best . You’re the best.
Blessings, Dr.Scott
Dr. Scott,
Thanks for your stated concerns and “mystification”.
Also, kudos for backing and praising Anthony: “you’re
the most patient man in the world for your attempts
to read and understand all the gobbledygook . . ”
Yes, Catholic essentials, “the Love of Jesus , His
Salvation , The Cross, [ & ] the Real Presence [ was
NEVER ] mentioned” . . above all, the Real Presence.
Elsewhere —in the past two hours —Prairie Grandpa
has commented on this stark ABSENCE of Catholic
essentials: “Faithful Baptized Catholics are engulfed
by a ‘soft’ Protestant Revolt”. The Real Presence [ a
sine-qua-non teaching of the Church’s Deposit ] is
conveniently buried in “la-la-land”, camouflaged
with SYMBOLIC “presence”.
Just to be sure, during the first Protestant Revolt,
a published book made the round detailing TWO
HUNDRED THEORIES of symbolism!
Real Holiness, or striving for sanctity [ as our
Baptism calls for ], or actual Beatification and
Canonization can NEVER grow out of the non-
existent soil of symbolism . . at least not in the
manicured sand pits of local prairie golf
courses.
P.S.
Scott, the following G.K. quote about his murder
mysteries I found very apropos:
““There is, however, another good work that is
done by detective stories,” G. K. Chesterton wrote
in 1901. “While it is the constant tendency of the
Old Adam [ Modernist Rome ] to rebel against so
universal and automatic [ millennial & abiding ] a
thing as civilization [ the CATHOLIC “THING” ], to
preach departure and rebellion, the ROMANCE of
police activity [ Church’s Deposit of Faith ] keeps
in some sense before the mind the fact that civilization
itself [ the “Keys of Peter ] is the most sensational
of departures and the most romantic of rebellions.
. . For the present it is enough to point out that
his form of art, like every form of art down to a
comic song, has the whole truth of the universe
behind it”
